Dawn Martinez graduated from Spring High School in 2000, and received a bachelors degree in Music Education from Sam Houston State University in 2004. While attending high school, Dawn was a member of the All-State Band and the All-State Orchestra, as well as member of the Region IX High School Region Band and Orchestra for four years running. Dawn was also a member of the Varsity Swim Team and Soccer Team and qualified for the Texas State Swimming championship meet while attending Spring High School. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Spring High School while being a four-year member of the National Honor Society, and being a multiple recipient of the Dean’s List at Sam Houston State University, Dawn Martinez has showed her constant drive towards academic excellence, as well as achieving many musical accomplishments. Dawn was a three-year member of the prestigious Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, where she earned national recognition at Drum Corps International and Drum Corps Midwest Individual and Ensemble competitions.
Dawn Martinez has been a part of many performing groups around the Greater Houston Area, and continues to be a valued and requested percussion specialist and performer for many churches, community organizations, and concert halls. While attending Sam Houston State University, Dawn was involved in the rebuilding of curriculum and instruction for the school of music and percussion studio, by being an active member of almost every performing ensemble, and striving to help improve the standards of music education majors attending the university. Currently in charge of the CTB Marching Band, Percussion Studio, and Jazz Studies, Dawn has been an integral part of the Conroe Tiger Band since 2001.
